Jenna's special need

"And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?" Jesus answered, neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him." John 9: 2-3
This little beauty (literal translation of her name) is legally blind, like Waid.

Jenna on far right. So much so, that she actually lives at a school for the blind, www.bethelchina.org/Default.aspx, in Beijing. It is a huge blessing that she is there, at this special home started by a wonderful family, with a huge heart.

Jenna's diagnosis is "small eyes" or Microphthalmia. It means underdeveloped eyeballs. This could be from a genetic mutation, from abnormal chromosomes, or exposure to drugs, x-rays, etc., before she was born. She will always have that sqinting look.
There is no way to know what part of the eyeballs are underdeveloped until she is home. Waid's surgeon said that their could also be a problem with the pathways from the eye to the brain.

No matter what, we're rarin' to go! And her brother Waid has "broken the ice" for her. Because of him, we have connections at Callahan Eye Foundation, UAB Low Vision Center, and Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind.
By the time Jenna gets home, we will be pro's at getting her what she needs to see her best. She seems so "girly", I bet she and Avery will have a ball!
And the whole family can't wait to love and cuddle those sweet cheeks!
And, yes, we're adopting out of birth order--again, and have had no problems with that in the past. Jenna falls between Wes and Avery in age.
